The Ministry of Civil Affairs of China released the full list of "2008 China Charity Awards" last December in the following link: http://news.xinhuanet.com/politics/2008-11/26/content_10415537.htm.
Five different prizes were given to 188 companies, 108 individuals, and 32 projects. The five prizes are: "Charity Award for Local Enterprises", "Charity Award for Overseas Enterprises", "Charity Award for Individual Donors", "Charity Award for Individual Charity Workers" and "Most Influential Charity Projects".
This is the most important award in the charity sector in China, and it's considered by most companies as the most prestigious award within the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The whole selection process and criteria are not known by the public. On the surface, it seems that that winners are mainly decided by the size of the donation or project, especially in the awards for enterprises. It would be much better in terms of credibility if they could disclose what the selection criteria were and get more public input!
